How the calculation works
Design width in inches = stitches across × threads per stitch ÷ fabric count. Multiply by 2.54 for cm. Add twice the allowance to both the width and height to find the fabric cut size.
The design size helps you choose a frame opening. Frame rebates, mats, lacing and hoop clearance vary: measure your actual frame and add the finishing allowance you need.
