Frequently Asked Questions

Is my image uploaded to a server?

No. All enhancement happens entirely in your browser. Your files never leave your device and are never sent to any server.

What adjustments can I make?

Use the Sharpness slider for overall edge clarity, Clarity for midtone structure and depth, and Noise Reduction to smooth grain from low-light or high-ISO shots. The before/after slider helps you judge when to stop.

What is the difference between Enhance and Auto Fix?

Yes. The before/after preview slider shows the original and enhanced versions side by side. Drag the divider to compare and confirm the improvement before downloading.

Can I save multiple versions of the same image?

No. Tracelyx Enhance does not alter image dimensions. The output is the same size as the original — only the pixel values are adjusted.

Is Tracelyx Enhance free?

Yes, completely free. No account required, no usage limits, no watermarks.

Which file formats are supported?

Tracelyx Enhance supports JPEG, PNG, and WebP as input formats.

How to Use Tracelyx Enhance: A Complete Guide

Enhance a Photo in 3 Steps

Tracelyx Enhance step-by-step guide
  1. Upload your photo — Drop a JPEG, PNG, or WebP file. Enhance shows a before/after preview so you can compare the original and the enhanced version in real time.
  2. Adjust the settings — Use the Sharpness, Clarity, and Noise Reduction sliders to tune the enhancement. Each slider updates the preview immediately so you can judge the result before downloading.
  3. Download the enhanced image — When the result looks right, click Download. The enhanced file is saved directly to your device in your chosen format.

Understanding the Enhancement Controls

Sharpness clarity and noise reduction controls

Sharpness enhances the contrast along edges — the boundaries between light and dark areas where the eye perceives detail. Increasing sharpness makes text, hair, fabric texture, and fine lines look crisper. Be careful with very high values on portrait photos: sharpening pores, stubble, and fine facial texture can make skin look harsh. For portraits, moderate sharpness (30–50%) combined with some noise reduction often gives the best result.

Clarity is a midtone contrast adjustment. Unlike sharpness, which targets fine edges, clarity lifts the contrast in the middle range of tones — giving structure to flat or hazy areas without altering highlights and shadows much. Landscape photos, product shots, and architectural images benefit most from clarity. Noise Reduction smooths out the grain-like pixel variation that appears in low-light photos. Apply it before sharpening, or use them together at moderate levels.

Privacy: Your Photos Never Leave Your Device

Tracelyx Enhance processes your image entirely inside your browser using JavaScript and the Canvas API. Nothing is uploaded — the enhancement runs locally on your device, and the output is saved directly to your computer. Tracelyx never sees your image.

This matters for client photos, confidential product images, and personal photographs you would not want uploaded to a cloud service. The tool works entirely offline once the page is loaded — you can even use it without an internet connection.
